If you approach the world in full armor –
at the very least, let it be chic.

I’m sitting here in the captains chair (because the captain is sleeping) eating a bowl of rice krispies. Life is pretty good right now, minus the fact that my front door was swung open & ‘INSULATION’ was yelled in my house this morning. Oh wait, but I’m in my robe watching Mob Wives… So can you come back later? This is a side of me people do not normally see.
The best part is the white fluffy shit (insulation) sneaking out of the spots they surely forgot to duct tape. I kid you not it is literally flying all up in my face/my cereal bowl/ALL over my living room. Lord give me strength. And a vacuum. No seriously, we don’t have one.
I wish I wasn’t such a clean-house biotch. I genuinely do. Andy had to practically carry me to bed last night because I fell asleep on the couch. When he said I should go to bed my reply was, ‘No, the bed isn’t made, so I can’t’. Okay miss bitchy-mcbitcherton. So my sweet man went up, made the bed, and put his evil princess to bed. Reason #8479 why I love my Andy.
Slouchy chic has been a favorite of mine ever since I started to devise & develop my personal style. I am a firm believer that when you feel good in what you’re wearing, you look good. Uncomfortable outfits that make you feel out of your skin are things of the past. Say goodbye to, ‘Is my ass hanging out of this?’ & hello to ‘I know I look good’. Here are some of my favorite looks for ‘Slouchy Chic’
One of my favorite books is called ‘It’s Never Too Late’. It has 171 simple acts that can change your life. I enjoy reading it from time to time when I am at loss for inspiration or just need a pick me up. It’s small enough to toss in your purse or keep next to your desk. It’s nice to just flip to a random page and keep that wisdom close to you throughout your day. I want to share two of my favorite things in this book with you this morning. I hope you love them as much as I do…
It’s Never Too Late To… Break away from the herd.
It can take cold courage. It’s your chance to follow your heart, lift your head up, choose your own course. It can bring disdain and abuse. But it will also bring esteem and admiration. But, above all, it brings self respect. Stand on your own feet. Be an individual.
It’s Never Too Late To… Reinvent Yourself
You are what you make of yourself. Not what others want you to be. If you don’t like the direction in which you’re heading, change… Set some goals: Short, meduim, long-term goals. Consider the new path you need to take. Take that path. Back your judgement.
‘The spirit is the true self’ -Cicero
This morning I woke up, opened my blinds & looked outside with my sloth eyeballs. The first thought that came to mind was, ‘I have to run today”. So, I did.
I also stopped and said hello to my favorite neighbors, Bessie and Esther. They are stinky bitches, eat grass, and let people squeeze their tits all day for milk. But I love them. There are 3 cows, 1 bunny, and tons of chickens. I was concerned that I would get chased off the property by the owner in his carhartt overalls with a shotgun, but it was worth the risk. Here are some photos I took while I coughed up a lung.
I came home, drank an ice cold glass of water, and made the most delicious shake ever. It had strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, 2 scoops of plain greek yogurt, flaxseed, almond milk, and orange juice. I got a little excited & made a mess…
After, I showered and went to the grocery store to get what I needed for a delicious homemade spaghetti dinner. Here is the recipe I am following. I prefer the Healthy Harvest pasta over regular pasta, because it is whole grain and I always support healthier options. Dinner turned out delicious, Andy and I are so happy with the way it turned out.
I made some garlic and brie to eat while I watched the game today. Even though my boys lost tonight, I still stand by them. Yes it was rough, and I did have some tears in my eyes when we lost in overtime. BUT, I’m a huge 49ers fan and so proud that we made it this far. Next year baby…
All in all I had a great Sunday. No words can describe the smile on my face when my man showed up 2 hours early from work. We watched the game together and he comforted me after the loss. These are the kind of Sundays I have dreamed of… I hope you had a great Sunday as well. Despite the fact that it’s the day before the most dreaded day of the week it’s still the best in my eyes. Loves, smooches, and football chest bumps until next time. XOXO, Bee
There are two things I want to give a shot.
One of them is this delicious recipe for Baked Crab Rangoon. I found the best recipe on the blog ‘Iowa Girl Eats’. They don’t look too difficult to put together. Let me know if any of you decide to try them, I’d love to hear how it goes.
The other thing I want to do are these darling glitter easter eggs. Now I know it’s a wee bit early, but you can never plan too far ahead for a holiday. The instructions are on Martha Stewarts site (shocking). They are a no brainer but so beautiful. I’m excited to try these two things & I hope you are too! Enjoy. XOXO
By the way, we are experimenting with new site designs. How are you liking the current look? Is it too complicated or just right? I would love any feedback (good/bad) it helps me a lot. My job is to make Commander in Chic an easy read & accesible to all.
