With A Face Like That

Ever heard a woman say that she is only as strong as the coffee she drinks & the hairspray she uses? Well, sometimes I feel like I am only as fabulous as the lipstick I’m rockin’. I’ve welcomed a whole new spectrum of colors in my life so that my soul doesn’t forget to shine in all aspects. And I will be honest, it doesn’t  always work. Sometimes I end up wiping it all off & saying screw it. But that’s what we do… we try different things until we’re able to find what works.

The best part about this lipcolor is it stands strong against any n’ all rain fall. From the sky, or from your eyeballs. So work it baby, & smile! It’s the best accessory.

(If the lipstain doesn’t work, I highly reccomend turning to this song  as an alternative Sassy-McSassterton-Boost)

Too much at….. too early

No, I am not your alarm clock, I’m better… well, not really, but I’m trying be. Okay look, I know Mondays are like the last donut in the box that nobody wants to touch because everyone has touched it at least once aaand… its gross. But suck it up, put your big girl/boy panties on (all styles accepted), twirl/shake it through a mist of your favorite perfume/cologne, slip into your favorite ‘I feel goood… shoot, I look good too!‘ outfit and play your favorite album on your way to work & sing at the top of your lungs. Yup. Even if you take: Trax/the bus/your bike/rollerblades/wings/disco-make-you-fly-sneaks. Just sing baby! And have a fantastic day to ring in the new week!

I’m trying to offer a blog that everyone can benefit from. I know that has not always been the case (my apologies) Here are a few things to browse while you enjoy your breakfast of champions AKA the last donut. Don’t worry……. I won’t tell anyone, as long as you wipe that scowl off your face & smile before your boss gets in.

Somethin’ out of nothin’

It’s too warm to drink hot tea right now, so when I fell in love with this sun-tea jar I ran straight home & put it to work. Sure is hard work… Sitting there, making something sweet out of nothin’. I’d like to be like that someday.

Green tea + peach tea + sunshine = Gold

I don’t add sugar to mine unless I am craving something sweet — then I remember I don’t like super sweet tea, so I  usually go eat ten otter pops instead. Sorry I’m not sorry about it.

Enjoy, xoxo

Ahhh

This lime-ginger-mint detox infusion from Fashion Cooking is just what the doctor ordered after a nice (& at times a bit hectic) spring break. I hope all of you had a great weekend! Back to the grind tomorrow.

All my love, Bee

Prep: 10mn
Infusion time: 5mn

Large pot (4 cups)

– Juice of 2 limes or 3 (depending on their size and concentration of juice)
– 3cm fresh ginger
– 1 / 2 bunch fresh mint
– 2 or 3 tablespoons of honey (I used agave)

Peel the ginger and cut into brunoise (tiny cubes). Chop the fresh mint. Place the diced ginger and chopped mint in the bottom of a teapot.

Squeeze the limes and pour the juice in a teapot. Add 75cl of boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes and add 2 or 3 tablespoons of honey to taste.

Serve hot or warm.

You can leave all the elements of the tea in the teapot, the more the better. I often add a little hot water if it has cooled.

Life Is Made For..

I have found a new love that makes early mornings something to look forward to… Eggs over easy, wheat toast, cholula hot sauce & a good book in bed. I used to make scrambled eggs every single day after school in elementary. I wouldn’t eat them with anything except ketchup (I know, sort of gross). After a couple years I burned myself out & dodged all eggs. For some reason I woke up ready to give them another shot, and I’m glad I did. Add some coffee/tea & you’re in heaven.

I’ve decided life is made for pb&j’s & dancing your ass off in the kitchen (to this song, naturally), so that is what is on my agenda on my day off. The floor also needs to be mopped & I’ve got laundry for days. My closet will be color coated by the end of today no matter what measures I have to take to make sure of it. There are a couple sites that have great tips for the perfect closet. These are the two I’m looking to for guidance 1/2

No Time For Nonsense

I just got off work & now I am ready to clean, clean, clean! Except my nostrils feel like someone shoved cotton up both of them while I was sleeping last night, there is possibly a little person in my head kicking my brain, & me eyeballs feel partially shriveled. Ooh yes, the glorious signs of a cold. But I refuse to get sick. I don’t have time to be sick right now. I’m going to make some tea, double up on vitamins, and have a hot bath before I put an end to this nerd/laundry/dishes MADNESS. Here are some natural cold remedies that look pretty interesting. Much better then chugging a bottle of nyquil…. usually.

I love you little bugs, have a happy non-congested day! XOXO

Niner Nation, Spaghetti, & A Recipe

This morning I woke up, opened my blinds & looked outside with my sloth eyeballs. The first thought that came to mind was, ‘I have to run today”. So, I did.

I also stopped and said hello to my favorite neighbors, Bessie and Esther. They are stinky bitches, eat grass, and let people squeeze their tits all day for milk. But I love them. There are 3 cows, 1 bunny, and tons of chickens. I was concerned that I would get chased off the property by the owner in his carhartt overalls with a shotgun, but it was worth the risk. Here are some photos I took while I coughed up a lung.

I came home, drank an ice cold glass of water, and made the most delicious shake ever. It had strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, 2 scoops of plain greek yogurt, flaxseed, almond milk, and orange juice. I got a little excited & made a mess…

After, I showered and went to the grocery store to get what I needed for a delicious homemade spaghetti dinner. Here is the recipe I am following. I prefer the Healthy Harvest pasta over regular pasta, because it is whole grain and I always support healthier options. Dinner turned out delicious, Andy and I are so happy with the way it turned out.

I made some garlic and brie to eat while I watched the game today. Even though my boys lost tonight, I still stand by them. Yes it was rough, and I did have some tears in my eyes when we lost in overtime. BUT, I’m a huge 49ers fan and so proud that we made it this far. Next year baby…

All in all I had a great Sunday. No words can describe the smile on my face when my man showed up 2 hours early from work. We watched the game together and he comforted me after the loss. These are the kind of Sundays I have dreamed of… I hope you had a great Sunday as well. Despite the fact that it’s the day before the most dreaded day of the week it’s still the best in my eyes. Loves, smooches, and football chest bumps until next time. XOXO, Bee
