T.G.I.F

This is EXACTLY how I am feeling right now.

I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. to work on my articles (I’m learning that it’s worth the late nights 99% of the time) BUT you just wait… I’ll get a small cup of coffee in me & I will be set. Deadline is at 9 p.m. and it’s looking like I should be meeting it — hallelujah thank the lord, girlfriend can finally finish a paper or two. By late afternoon I will be dancing around in my house — probably doing moves like this on the kitchen floor…

Oh my god. I’m kidding. Kind of..

Happy Friday loves! Ciao, B

Will Knows

It’s Monday Morning & you probably don’t have much time to spare. But if you do, listen to this motivational video with Will Smith. I think he has done a fantastic job balancing his career and his family, which is something that is truly difficult to do even when you’re not a celebrity.

Another reason I love Will Smith? He celebrates his wife instead of acting like he is entitled to having her be his partner (need an example? go here) I don’t care who you are, whether you are a celebrity, CEO, or athlete, you still need to cherish and celebrate the brilliant people in your life. My belief is that if you aren’t being celebrated it is time to upgrade.

And… I’d feel wrong for not sharing these photos of their home that showcases their incredible taste. Can you say dream home?

A potion for Spring

I have really wanted to share this concoction that can make it feel a little more like Spring in your home with a few simple ingredients. Unfortunately, I was not able to find all of the ingredients at my local grocery store, so I will share in high hopes that you will be able to find what you’ll need.

(Thank you to “One more moore” where I found this lovely potion)

You need a small stockpot filled about 2/3 full with water. 1 lemon, sliced, and a few sprigs of rosemary. Then add 1-2 tsp of vanilla. Add water throughout the day as needed. You can keep the same mixture for around 2 days but after that you will need to throw it out.

Ooh the things I’d do for my own herb garden (or my mothers) — Let me know if any of you try it out. Cheers to Spring & the birth of new & beautiful things!

He Adores Her

“A beautiful girl can make you dizzy, like you’ve been drinking Jack and Coke all morning. She can make you feel high, full of the single greatest commodity known to man – promise. Promise of a better day. Promise of a greater hope. Promise of a new tomorrow. This particular aura can be found in the gaze of a beautiful girl. In her smile, in her soul, in the way she makes every rotten little thing about life seem like it’s going to be okay.”

Blackies Home

I saw this idea on Pinterest & thought, “Oh, Blackie-Chan would LOVE this!”

But then my wife/meow meow asked me if I thought Blackie might  feel like he’s getting roasted. I really hope he wouldn’t. I am just trying to spice up his life, you know? When its sunny outside I move his bowl to the windowsill in the kitchen & he gets sooo happy. It’s pretty cute, except the sun makes his bowl a giant magnifying glass for every particle of shit he’s swimming in. Whatever dude. I cleaned it 4 days ago – Get over it & be grateful for what you have.

My hopes are that he would enjoy the floating candles, and maybe mistake them for his own personal sunshine. Or jesus. Thoughts?

Make It Happen

‎”I am thoroughly convinced that a man or woman is capable of achieving whatever he or she wants in this life. I believe it’s not a question of talent, ability, or intellect but rather one of passion and hard work.”

Snug As Bugs

I finished. This is real life right now – My article is finished! I still have some revising to do before I submit my final draft, but it is done. I am so happy! Slowly but surely I am learning that consistent hard work does pay off at school. Even if you aren’t sure how to do it, do your best. Asking for help never hurts either. I guess I’m just learning that now in my freshman year of college. Some people take a little longer to figure things out. I’m perfectly okay with that.

After I finished I took a long hot shower & busted out the makeup. I haven’t played dress up for the hell of it in a minute. Getting ready isn’t something I do often as of late because of work and school. I guess the ‘I don’t have to’ thing comes into play.

I believe in getting all dolled up for absolutely no reason other then you just feel like it. Plus, there is no harm in perfecting your cat eye. Notice my ‘Bailey’ necklace.. My amazing mum bought me a new one for Christmas. Thank you momma!

I can honestly say I have fallen back in love with my curls. Life is good when you can let your hair air dry & be good for the day. I’m sure the majority of you are fast asleep snug as bugs in lil’ rugs – So until next time, xoxo B
