When I met Ryanne, a close friend of mine, one of the first things we bonded over was food, especially one of the key things in both our diets: chocolate. Seriously. We’ve been through a lot since then. But one of our favorite things to do is cook, especially if the 49ers are playing or the Bachelor/Bachelorette is on.
Ryanne and I work together but she recently had her babygirl and is working from home. But we still chat via Skype everyday so it’s almost as good as sitting across from her at the office. As usual we picked a recipe during the week and got together over the weekend to catch up and cook. We decided to make Chocolate Pomegranate Ginger Bark to give as gifts to friends for the holidays. Because chocolate makes us happy, and we obviously want to share that happiness.
We found the recipe on Pinterest, but you can head over to the blog B&D (Baking & Design) for the recipe. It’s delicious and I had to practice a lot of self-control while gift wrapping it because I wanted it all for myself.
She is one of the most beautiful souls… and for 21 years we have been through it all together. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing sissy & best friend. I can’t wait for the rest of her beautiful journey to unfold. I love you Kelsey Loraine, happy birthday.
One of my best friends is coming to visit me today. I am thrilled!! I was planning on cleaning, unpacking, and catching up on the 5 (yes FIVE) blog posts that have been shoved into the draft corner, but plans change & today it was for the better. Wine, lunch, and any other trouble we can get ourselves in around this little town tops all of the above, wouldn’t you say? AND she is bringing this lil baby who I cannot wait to smooch n’ snuggle.
I apologize to those who have been waiting for posts (Ashley Sweat, Celeste, & my favorite bloggers involved in a post I am working on, etc) Bare with me while I get used to this whole ‘if the house is clean, clean it, because it’s YOURS’ thing. Wait, so nobody else will do it…? And they wont do my homework either? WTF.
The gorgeous Brae celebrated her Birthday yesterday, so I feel a shout out is necessary.
She is one of the many incredible women I know, and she inspires me (& I’m sure many others) to own who I really am without an ounce of hesitation. Happy birthday doll, you’re absolutely brilliant. So thankful to have such a gem in my life. Cheers to many more exciting adventures to come. XOXO
My beautiful grandmother is returning from Calgary, Alberta where she was visiting our family for 2 weeks. Excitement got the best of me & I have been preparing all day. The house is spotless & smells like Christmas. There is nothing like a roaring fire on a cold Winter day in SLC. A storm is rolling in, so I went and bought some logs & groceries to make spaghetti for dinner (hopefully the wind doesn’t take the power out). My grandmother is one of the most loved & celebrated people in my life, I would give her the world if I could. I’m so grateful to have her as my GG…
Kerry & I had a fabulous time together this weekend. We were surrounded by good people & good food. She did my hair & as always, I love it. We went lighter then we planned but it is refreshing and I couldn’t be happier. Sometimes people have to go away for a while for you to truly appreciate and cherish the love you have for them. The few months that Kerry was back in Oregon were very sad, but very beneficial towards our friendship. I love you!
I can’t help but be happy sometimes… And five years old. What a delicious, memorable, hilarious Thanksgiving dinner with the Kontgis family. I am so lucky to be able to be a part of their lives. But, there are two things that put me to sleep the fastest, and that is Turkey & math. I haven’t had to do any math this evening thank the good god BUT I am full of Turkey and so excited to crawl in my yummy bed (while Ryan serenades me, of course. mmmm)
Ps. If only you knew how hard it is to get a photo with this girl… Pardon my elf ears & the bad quality. But you get the point. She said I look like Obama/Mr. Monopoly. I ain’t mad
