Back to my roots

I have been missing my girlfriends, mum & co-workers a lot lately. My heart aches when I don’t get to see the gems in my life. So I packed the car up & Roman & I made our way to SLC for a few days. I feel like I am on vacation — yet I’m sitting here enjoying a cup of joe at my old desk.

I know I say it a lot, and to some it may be too much, but the blessings in my life never cease to amaze me. All I can say is I genuinely wish I could make sure everyone felt the same about their life. But sometimes, it’s just not that easy.

Happy Monday beautiful, shine on.

The Perfect Mermaid

I’m positive Tessa Barton is one of the most talented, beautiful, breathe-taking people you’ll ever lay your eyes on. Did I mention she sings?… Listen to her cover of one of my favorite songs by Coldplay. AND, while you’re at it, go see her blog – It is outstanding. There are some people you just can’t help but stare at.

I have a feeling today is going to be a day of learning – Don’t ask me why, because I couldn’t tell you. Sometimes I just get good feelings. XOXO

Today I Am Loving…

This man bouquet. Every man would love this, I guarantee it. I’m ready for my lady bouquet, which would entail bubbly, lipstick, makeup brushes, & whatever else. (Not tampons. We can take care of that. Thanks though)

These bite sized pieces of baked brie. I was raised in a home where garlic & brie are a favorite, so I am all about these.

This man, for reminding me that sometimes you just have to jump and know that someone will catch you… And for being the one I can trust enough to do so. (Oh & for loving me even though I’m crazy) I love you so much.

This loft bed with a built in closet underneath. I love how simple it is, and the organization is awesome. I can’t stand childrens bedrooms with toys & what not just laying there waiting until you roll your ankle on them or puncture your foot.

This look

This woman! 83-years-old Bette Calman is living proof that the ancient art of yoga can do wonders on the human body. Bette Calman has been practicing and teaching yoga for the last 40 years and, although other people her age can hardly move anymore, she can pool of difficult yoga moves that put teenagers to shame. She can execute the “peacock” a difficult position in which the body is held horizontally, using only the power of the arms,  the “bridge”, “lotus” and can stand on her head with unnatural ease. Asked when she is going to retire, Calman said ‘You’re never too old. The body is a remarkable instrument. ‘It can stretch and stretch, and get better all the time. Forget age’ Ms Bette Calman teaches up to 11 classes every week, in Williamstown, Australia, teaching others the remarkable effects of yoga.

Because she could probably kick my ass.

Getting seconds at our work luncheon (because I can)

Savers providing me with an oversized sweater that I can’t get enough of. It probably came from a 90 year olds closet, but sweaters don’t require background checks. As long as they can mingle with my Litas & non-traditional Christmas nails, we’re fine.

My amazing grandma. I love her everyday, but especially when she sends me to work with airborne, crackers, & detailed instructions for nursing a cold/inversion-rebellion. She also knew exactly where my leg warmers were this morning when I was frantically trying to find them before work. ‘What would you do without me?’ Well grandma, I don’t have a clue.

So there are a few of my favorite things. What are you loving today?

So She Counts…

I’ve spent tonight watching Sister Wives (they’re from Utah… shocking) & eating some of the 30 wings I bought to-go from Wingcoop (I have a problem). As I’ve said before, I respect all walks of life. I think that humans are so incredibly interesting, we can all learn from each other. But, I am also really thankful that I am in a beautiful, happy relationship…. & not polygamist.

I’ve caught a bad case of writers block, so my posts have been lacking. I am really sorry, hopefully I can get out of this stagnant mood. The last few days have been spent marinating in the fact that I will be packing up my life here in SLC & moving to my new home in 2 weeks. It’s a mixture between absolute excitement & an eager heart with a side of heartache & nerves. This all feels natural, I think. At least I can finally do this cute idea.  I’m listening to Eminem while I sluggishly pack my gym bag. I have been awful about getting up & going, and have packed on a couple Holiday LBS, to say the least. Dear extra lovin’ on my tummy, please relocate to my ass. Thank you kindly, Me. XOXO

Sorry I’m Not Sorry

None of my pants want to zip/button as of late, & leggings give me all the freedom in the world. Can can dance? Sure. Sitting indian style in my chair at my desk during work? Go ahead.

Barefoot Mornings

“Barefoot or first thing in the morning, I feel beautiful. Because I feel like me. I didn’t always feel that way, but I feel that way now. When somebody just loves you, and when you make somebody happy, when your presence seems to make them happy, you suddenly feel like the most beautiful person in the world.” -Angelina Jolie

Rise & shine my loves! I’m not a morning person, I never have been. But I still find that time when you first wake up everyday to be very beautiful. If you do it right, as with anything, you can learn to enjoy it. Don’t rush. Stumble (or prance, whatever, I don’t care) out of bed & into the kitchen to start your beverage of choice. Let your head hang low as the hot water runs against your neck in the shower. Get out, smile, & use your nicest lotion. I like to whiten my teeth while I blow dry my hair & sit in my robe. Eventually, things start coming to your attention. The birds telling you about their dreams, the sun peaking over the mountains, and the kettle beginning to whistle. Maybe this morning thing isn’t so bad after all?
